Western Acupuncture (Dry Needling) In Chelmsford

Improves Muscular Pain & Promotes Tissue Healing

Western Acupuncture (dry needling) focuses on specific trigger points in order to provide therapeutic relief.

How Does Western Acupuncture (Dry Needling) Help?

Dry needling is a therapeutic technique that involves inserting thin needles into the skin and underlying tissues to release trigger points, improve muscular pain and dysfunction, and promote tissue healing.

  • Relieves pain: Dry needling releases tight muscle tissue, decreases spasms and stimulates the body's natural pain relief system, providing relief from muscular tension, tightness and spasms.
  • Improves range of motion: Dry needling reduces myofascial restrictions and muscular tightness, thereby restoring normal range of motion.
  • Improves circulation: Dry needling stimulates the muscles and their associated connective tissue to promote increased blood flow and nutrient exchange in the area, improving overall circulation.
  • Reduces inflammation: Dry needling helps reduce inflammatory markers, improving tissue healing and providing relief from swelling and pain associated with inflammation.
  • Accelerates recovery from injury & illness: Dry needling helps restore muscle balance and improve tissue healing, promoting faster recovery from injury or illness.
  • Enhances sports performance: Dry needling helps reduce muscular tension and tightness, improving flexibility and allowing athletes to perform their best in the field.

The Principles of Dry Needling

The principles of dry needling are based on Western medical principles and research, which include the use of thin needles to stimulate trigger points, improve muscular pain and dysfunction, reduce inflammation, facilitate tissue healing, restore muscle balance and optimize sports performance.

Additionally, it is believed that dry needling can help reduce nerve sensitivity and improve overall quality of life.

How Does Dry Needling Differ From Eastern Acupuncture?

Although dry needling and Eastern acupuncture use similar needles, the technique is different. Dry needling focuses on specific trigger points in order to provide therapeutic relief, while Eastern acupuncture takes a more holistic approach that aims at restoring balance and energy flow throughout the body.

Additionally, dry needling is based on Western medical principles and research, while acupuncture is rooted in traditional Chinese medicine.

Furthermore, acupuncture focuses on the flow of energy within and around the body while dry needling seeks to target and release specific points of pain and tension.

My experience with Forte has proved exceptional. My engagement has been with Gemma, sports massage expert. I went for a specific issue and now regularly go because she has (a) solved the problem and (b) worked hard on reoccurrence and general well being. If anyone needs a sports massage try her. You won't be disappointed.
