Dry Cupping is a technique derived from Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) which can be used alone or in conjunction with massage therapy, acupuncture and dry needling.
During Dry Cupping, silicone cups are placed on the skin to create a vacuum, which lifts the soft tissue and creates an upward stretch within the muscle and fascia. The cups can either be left in a static position or moved along the skin to provide a deep tissue massage effect.
Dry Cupping increases localised circulation to the soft tissue, which helps to increase the oxygen and nutrient content in the muscle. This increased circulation helps to remove any stagnant blood and waste products which promotes the healing process within the soft tissue.
Dry Cupping can be used to treat muscle pain/tension, reduced joint movement and soft tissues injuries.
